Beginners Clay Hand-building Pottery classes (4 week blocks – booking essential)

Our 4 week beginners lessons focus on each of the processes of working with clay, each class is 2 hours long and run on the following days/times:

  • Thursday day times 10am – 12pm
  • Thursday evenings 6.30pm – 8.30pm
  • Friday day times 10am – 12pm
  • Saturdays 11am – 1pm

A typical beginners 4 week block would start with pinch pots, slab pots, coil pots and glazing. This introduces you to the basics of handbuilding with clay and really provides you with an opportunity to understand how to use clay to make some beautiful items for you to cherish.

Pottery classes for Handbuilding: Open studio – weekly classes (booking essential)

If you just want to give clay a try, you can choose an open studio on a Saturday where you can make a pottery item. This item will need to be glazed so you can choose an oxide wash that the studio apply for you together with a clear glaze.

Alternatively, if you wish to glaze it yourself, you would need to come for a second studio about 3 weeks later to put glaze on to your piece.

Pottery Wheel Throwing lessons (Individual, Two, Three or Four People – Booking Essential)

We offer single person throwing lessons to teach you the art of the possible with clay.  Starting with centering, we show your the principles and then support you as you master the techniques and produce your pieces of hand thrown individual work.  Available as individual sessions, two, three or four people together across our 2 wheels.  Bookings can be made here:

Themed Sessions

Our Themed sessions are incredibly popular.  These are step by step and are tutor led. Whether it’s making a Highland Cow, a wild hare, a funny sheep, a botanical vase, enchanted tea light house or a themed sessions such as Easter, Halloween or Christmas, we have sessions designed for you.  All of these sessions are on pre-scheduled dates throughout the year.

All classes are incredibly popular so must be booked in advance.
